sterling lunar phases crescent necklace with labradorite

sterling lunar phases crescent necklace with labradorite

I've always lived my life on the sea and let my thoughts and emotions get pulled with the tides.

This one-of-a-kind design features a hand-cut sterling silver crescent, which I hand-cut the phases of the moon out. A small, polished labradorite cabochon is set as the full moon. The crescent flows downward to a small sterling drop, finished with another polished labradorite cabochon. 24 inch long sterling chain. This is an eye-catching necklace and can easily be dressed up or down.

The crescent is one of the oldest symbols known to humanity. Together with the sun, it appeared on Akkadian seals as early as 2300 BC. In ancient symbolism, the moon represents the beyond. It is often considered to rule the senses and emotions. The Moon serves as an illumination in the darkness, and helps us track the passing of time, we can accurately predict the moon phase and have been able to do so for thousands of years, so the moon can represent emotional and spiritual growth and journeys, and also the emergence of understanding.

Labradorite is a member of the Feldspar family and is treasured for its remarkable play of color, known as labradorescence. It was discovered in Labrador, Canada, by Moravian missionaries in 1770 who named it for the area. Lore of the Inuit peoples claim Labradorite fell from the frozen fire of the Aurora Borealis, an ordinary stone that transforms to the extraordinary, shimmering in a mystical light that separates the waking world from unseen realms.

A stone of transformation, Labradorite is a useful companion through change, imparting strength and perseverance.  It balances and protects the aura, raises consciousness and grounds spiritual energies.  Excellent for strengthening intuition - promoting psychic abilities.  Powerful in revealing the truth behind illusions, Labradorite banishes fears and insecurities, and strengthens faith in the self and trust in the universe.  It stimulates the imagination and calms an overactive mind, developing enthusiasm and new ideas.
