etched flower mandala necklace with labradorite

This one-of-a-kind design features a hand-cut brass flower, comprised of two individual layers of hand-etched brass in an intricate flower mandala design. I curled some of the petals up to create dimension around a faceted labradorite cabochon, nestled within a brass bezel. Finished with a brass drop, which I hand-etched with a complementing design and another small faceted labradorite cabochon. 27-inch long brass chain. This is an eye-catching necklace, is perfect for layering and can easily be dressed up or down.

Labradorite is a member of the Feldspar family and is treasured for its remarkable play of color, known as labradorescence. It was discovered in Labrador, Canada, by Moravian missionaries in 1770 who named it for the area. Lore of the Inuit peoples claim Labradorite fell from the frozen fire of the Aurora Borealis, an ordinary stone that transforms to the extraordinary, shimmering in a mystical light that separates the waking world from unseen realms.

A stone of transformation, Labradorite is a useful companion through change, imparting strength and perseverance.  It balances and protects the aura, raises consciousness and grounds spiritual energies.  Excellent for strengthening intuition - promoting psychic abilities.  Powerful in revealing the truth behind illusions, Labradorite banishes fears and insecurities, and strengthens faith in the self and trust in the universe.  It stimulates the imagination and calms an overactive mind, developing enthusiasm and new ideas.
