elegant bullet casing necklace with blue goldstone
This unique, steampunk-style necklace features a recycled bullet casing, which was found on a walk in the woods. I hand-etched the casing with an intricate flower mandala design, then decorated it with brass filigree and Swarovski gemstones. A polished blue goldstone point fills the bullet casing. 27-inch long brass chain.
Often mistaken as a mineral, goldstone is actually a glittering manmade glass. In gem folklore, it was first produced accidentally. The legend has many variations. Some say a monk, or factory worker, randomly knocked copper shavings into molten glass, others say alchemists discovered it during their attempts to produce gold, and still others believe monks practicing alchemy created the secret recipe.
Goldstone is said to be a master healer, stabilizing emotions and aiding in staying calm. Used as an energy generator and a good deflector of unwanted energies, therefore is a protection stone. It helps one set goals that are often lofty and work to attain them. Goldstone also has many of the metaphysical properties of copper, including strengthening the circulatory system, strengthening bones and easing arthritic pain, which is felt to be extremely helpful in increasing blood flow and reducing inflammation.
