egyptian scarab necklace with labradorite
This one-of-a-kind necklace features an Egyptian scarab beetle, made from all hand-cut and textured brass. A hidden Eye of Horus cutout can be found on the back side. The Eye of Horus is an Ancient Egyptian symbol of protection, royal power and good health. In addition to all the symbolism surrounding this piece, I added two faceted labradorite cabochons, which is nature's stone of shamanism, the ancient form of spirituality where healing is achieved in parallel planes of existence and different states of consciousness. Finished with an 18-inch long brass chain.
The Egyptian god Khepri, Ra as the rising sun, was often depicted as a scarab beetle or as a scarab beetle-headed man. The ancient Egyptians believed that Khepri renewed the sun every day before rolling it above the horizon, then carried it through the other world after sunset, only to renew it, again, the next day.
