etched flower mandala necklace with goldstone
This one-of-a-kind design features a hand-cut brass flower, comprised of two layers of hand-etched brass in an intricate flower mandala design. I hand-cut and curled some of the petals to create dimension around a polished goldstone cabochon, which is nestled within a handmade brass bezel. The 12.5 inch long brass chain allows the pendant to rest perfectly upon the chest. This is an eye-catching necklace, is perfect for layering and can easily be dressed up or down.
Often mistaken as a mineral, goldstone is actually a glittering manmade glass. In gem folklore, it was first produced accidentally. The legend has many variations. Some say a monk, or factory worker, randomly knocked copper shavings into molten glass, others say alchemists discovered it during their attempts to produce gold, and still others believe monks practicing alchemy created the secret recipe.
Goldstone is said to be a master healer, stabilizing emotions and aiding in staying calm. Used as an energy generator and a good deflector of unwanted energies, therefore is a protection stone. It helps one set goals that are often lofty and work to attain them. Goldstone also has many of the metaphysical properties of copper, including strengthening the circulatory system, strengthening bones and easing arthritic pain, which is felt to be extremely helpful in increasing blood flow and reducing inflammation.
